Born out of a shared love of surf culture and cardigans, The 427’s are a throwback to days spent at the beach and nights spent dancing at the Rendezvous Ballroom. Influenced by early 60’s surf music, spaghetti westerns, and film noir, The 427’s formed in the fall of 2013 and released their debut EP, “Surf Noir” in February, 2014. They’ve shared stages with artists from the world of punk, rockabilly, rock n’ roll, and swing, and have been featured on radio stations worldwide, including reaching the top 10 in Winnipeg and Halifax and the top 20 in Victoria. They are currently recording their full-length follow-up to “Surf Noir”, to be released in autumn, 2015. As Dave O Rama of BC Musician Magazine states, “…The 427’s have created a sun soaked love letter to the sixties surf guitar genre, providing the perfect soundtrack for any backyard luau or beach bonanza. A band I would definitely see live, The 427’s will make you want to rev up your woody and go stuff a wild bikini.”
